The Lighthouse Hunters Photography

This was our first time at the Fire Island lighthouse for sunset. We were standing on the beach on Sept. 17, 2010 and this shot was taken at 6:38 pm. It was a beautiful night.

We were in Oahu, Hawaii for 5 days for the 64th Biennial NALC National Convention. This shot was taken on July 22, 2004 at 7:05 pm while we were at the Paradise Cove Luau.

While about to leave Monmouth Beach, NJ at 6:39 pm on June 30, 2020 I saw this rainbow. Nice to see something beautiful and positive during the COVID-19 global pandemic.

These clouds were on Rural Route 3 in Haldimand, ON. This was after we chartered a little outboard motor boat to get close to the Mohawk Island lighthouse in July 2009.

The sun hid behind the evening clouds as we motored back to Bayfield, WI on Sept. 12, 2009. We finally saw the Sand Island light. www.lighthousecelebration.com

Early morning November 3, 2010 I went out to photograph the Twin Lights of Navesink lighthouse. I didn't see the sun come up over the ocean but I saw these nice clouds.

During a very humid night on July 30, 2010 I was playing around with my camera. My friend is slowly getting me to shoot in manual. This was at F22 and 1/125 seconds with 0 EV.

While driving to the 30 Mile Point lighthouse in Upper New York we saw these cool cumulus clouds. Sept. 2010 was the 1st time I used my Hoya 72mm circular multi-coated polarizer.

On May 29, 2005 we went on a private plane charter in Cordova, AK. Next we flew into Anchorage, got a rental car, our room and ate dinner. This shot was at 11:01 pm.

These were the clouds in Charlevoix, MI after we ended the great 4-day GLLKA cruise aboard the Keweenaw Star. We had a great time with the other lighthouse enthusiasts.

While in Canso, Nova Scotia, Canada we saw our first water spout heading east behind Piscatiqui Island. I was a little scared on September 1, 2017.

Clouds on the Cape Cod Canal in MA were the last thing we saw before turning around during the worst lighthouse cruise ever! Only 1 of 5 lighthouses were seen on July 16, 2011.

These clouds were above the Turtle Island lighthouse ruins. We were on the Sandpiper out of Toledo, OH on Sept. 12, 2010 along with 61 other people. www.sandpiperboat.org

In-between photographing the lighthouses on Lake Michigan I took a shot of the clouds. The final day of our Keweenaw Star cruise with GLLKA was on June 30, 2011.

We were on an Apostle Islands Lighthouse Celebration cruise on Sept. 12, 2009. We motored 88 miles seeing 7 lighthouses in the Apostle Islands, WI. What a successful day.

Miles off-shore and heading back to Scituate, MA. We photographed 1 lighthouse in 5 hours, never getting to the Buzzard's Bay lights or others. Horrible-July 16, 2011.

We were in Maui and the other Hawaiian Islands to photograph all the lighthouses. These pretty clouds were from a sunset near Lahaina, Maui at 7:13 pm on July 13, 2004.

While shooting the off shore Cranberry Island lighthouse, our 1,577th light, we saw this rainbow from Canso, Nova Scotia, Canada. Taken on September 1, 2017.

From the 4 day lighthouse cruise with GLLKA on the Keweenaw Star we shot the lights of southwestern MI, IN, IL, and parts of WI. This was near Indiana Harbor in June 2010.

We were with GLLKA on the Keweenaw Star for a great 4 day lighthouse cruise of Upper Michigan. Gary Martin & Mike Hershberger were also in Marquette, MI on Sept. 7, 2009.

We were on the Keweenaw Star with GLLKA www.gllka.com approaching the Rawley Point lighthouse on June 29, 2010. A fantastic and fun 4 day lighthouse cruise on Lake Michigan.

We were on the grounds of the Grand Island Old Front Range lighthouse in Sept. 2010. The clouds were about to cover the sun for a long time. Luckily we took all our shots.

The Jet Express IV passed through some rain while on Lake Erie on Sept. 23, 2011. We 58 GLLKA members saw 16 lighthouses during our 9 hour lighthouse cruise in USA & Canada.
