Other Lighthouse Information:
The lighthouse is located on the eastern end of Emmet Park on East Bay Street along the Savannah River. The cast iron tower resembles a streetlight with decorative detailing. The 77 feet above river level lighthouse was restored and on January 11, 2001 and the decorative gas light was relit. There are several tall trees and many huge anchors on the grounds.
The Lighthouse Hunters Experience:
The first time we photographed the Savannah Harbor Range light we had problems finding it and no one was able to help us. It really does look like a very tall oxidized green colored street lamp. Luckily the second time we saw it we had some sun. There are only a few spots you can stand to get the whole lighthouse. We came here in the spring both times and wonder if the leaves would envelop the lighthouse during the summer months.
