Lower New York is fairly close to home for us. We have been here several times over the years. For years we would sail our boat up the East River for our vacations. We had many great times on our sailboat but now we are on a quest to see every lighthouse in the United States and we're almost completely done.

The Welcome to New York State sign was on the center medium of the New Jersey Parkway north. It's after Montvale, NJ before the road becomes the New York State Thruway. This shot was taken on September 23, 2008. The Empire State sign is on I-90 East between PA's exit 45 & NY's exit 61. I took this shot on September 13, 2010.
