The Lighthouse Hunters Photography

These Elephant Seals are on the beach near San Simeon, CA. We were watching and listening to all of their loud noises on June 3, 2006. What an awesome sight to see.

We rented snorkeling gear from Surf N' Sea while in Haleiwa, Oahu, Hawaii. I took this shot of a huge Sea Turtle with a one time use underwater camera on July 23, 2004. So cool.

We saw alligators, turtles, snakes and birds on a 2 hour boat trip with Louisiana Swamp Tours. This alligator was pretty close. On March 26, 2004 I held a 10" baby alligator.

We saw at least a dozen playful humpback whales during our 4 hour boat cruise on the Hyannis Whale Watcher on May 22, 2009. This was the best whale watching trip ever!

This humpback whale was making a big splash. There were so many whales around west side of Cape Cod, MA during our unbelieveable cruise on May 22, 2009. www.whales.net

This humpback whale gave me a great oppurtunity to take this awesome shot. I'm glad I had my Nikon D300 camera with me on this trip. It was great to take multiple shots.

At one point during our whale watching cruise with Hyannis Whale Watcher the humpback whales were feeding on fish. It was cool to see their mouths open up to get their lunch.

This is one of the dozen Humpback Whales we saw near the Farallon Islands in CA on August 14, 2010. The Oceanic Society chartered the Salty Lady for our cruise.

These penguins are in the Santa Barbara Zoo in southern California. They were all so cute when they waddled and swam around. This shot was taken on June 2, 2006.

We went on this Hyannis Whale Watcher cruise because it passed closely to the Sandy Neck lighthouse. Little did we know we would have the best whale watching experience!!

The humpback whales were everywhere! We ran from one side of the boat to the other. It was amazing to see them splash the water of the Cape Cod Bay with their tails and fins.

We are still amazed to this day that we got to photograph so many humpback whales while in the Cape Cod Bay. The birds are also looking for their free lunch. www.whales.net

These cute seals were all hanging out near the water at Fisherman's Wharf Pier 39 in San Francisco, California. This shot was taken on May 29, 2006.

We saw alligators, turtles, snakes and birds on a 2 hour boat trip with Louisiana Swamp Tours. This alligator was farther away from our boat on March 26, 2004.

These Stellar Sealions are relaxing near the St. George's Reef lighthouse in northern CA. Golden Bear Fishing Charters took us on a 4 hour boat trip on foggy August 16, 2010.

This humpback whale was going back down after filling his huge mouth with fish. The awesome cruise out of Barnstable, MA was well worth it on May 22, 2009.

When we woke up on May 22, 2009 we had no idea how fantastic our day was going to be. We just planned on photographing the Sandy Neck lighthouse during a whale watch cruise.

What an awesome day on the water! Twelve humpback whales gave us a show and we also photographed the Sandy Neck lighthouse. Someone was smiling down on us for sure.

There are several humpback whales just below the surface about to come up also. It was such an exciting day and everyone was thrilled and screamed when a whale surfaced.

A flock of American white pelicans on a little island in the waters of Green Bay, WI. On the Keweenaw Star we passed them on June 28, 2011 near the Grassy Island Range lights.

The humpback whales were on the port side, the starboard side and on the bow. The Hyannis Whale Watcher holds 400 people but there were only 125 on May 22, 2009.

A few American white pelicans and seagulls flew near us on June 28, 2011 during our GLLKA lighthouse cruise. We were heading towards the ruins of Long Point lighthouse.

We were excited to see a few whales and never imagined there would be a dozen humpbacks all over the place. The whales popped up all around at different distances.

We saw several humpback whales when we were on the Oceanic Society's Wildlife cruise back on August 14, 2010. Too bad the sun wasn't out during this part of the trip.

During our GLLKA four-day cruise on the Keweenaw Star this seagull followed us for a bit. We were an hour away from the Poverty Island lighthouse. Taken on June 30, 2011.

This is a Tufted Puffin hanging out in the California ocean on August 14, 2010. We were on an all day boat trip to the Farallon Islands to photograph the lighthouse there.

This dolphin is near the Morris Island lighthouse in South Carolina. I took this shot on cloudy April 8, 2008 from Folly Beach. The next day we didn't see any of the dolphins.

While we were on the Salty Lady eight hour boat trip for the Farallon Islands we saw this Northern Fur Seal hanging out on his back. This was taken on August 14, 2010.

These two White Sided Dolphins passed the Salty Lady boat during our full day cruise. The Oceanic Society took us to photograph the Farallon Island light on August 14, 2010.

After we photographed the Farallon Island lighthouse while on the Salty Lady boat we photographed several humpback whales. We enjoyed the full day trip on August 14, 2010.

Here is a Fiddler Crab on the beach near the Morris Island lighthouse in South Carolina. It has a large left claw. This shot was taken on sunny April 9, 2008.

While at the South Carolina Aquarium in Charleston, SC we saw this albino alligator swimming in the water. This shot was taken on September 15, 2013.

This is Lobster Boy. We made him from an 8 pound lobster body we ate but we had to use a 2 lb. lobster claw for his head. We even put a Christmas hat on him for the holidays.

I hope you enjoyed seeing our marine life photos taken from around North America (United States and Canada). It was awesome taking so many humpback whale photos. I'll add more marine life photos as I take them. Updated on April 8, 2015.
