Pennsylvania's shoreline is 45 miles long. Lake Erie is the shallowest of all the Great Lakes with an average of 62 feet which makes it very dangerous. The lighthouse is at the far eastern end of Presque Isle State Park. The keeper's house is located inside the nearby Coast Guard station.The Lighthouse Hunters Experience:
We've walked on this pier to the lighthouse several times. In the summer of 2010 we took the 90 minute Presque Isle Boat Tours cruise aboard the 65 foot Lady Kate and saw this light from the water. During the narrated cruise we traveled 14 miles on the water and also photographed Presque Isle and Erie Land.
